An early February trip to Shortsands beach in Oswald West state park. It was shorts&tshirt weather, which was insane(ly awesome.)
There used to be a campground here, a short walk through the trees from the beach, but it was sadly closed when, a few years ago, a tree fell near sleeping folk in tents. Upon further examination, it was discovered that most of the trees in the vicinity of the campground were diseased, dead, or dying. Here is an interesting article on what can be done, and the steps it would take to be able to open up this beautiful campground again without harming the environment.
